Weddings in Italy Needn't Break the Bank

You may have always dreamed of getting married in a palazzo in Italy, or amongst the vines or olive groves, but think that this is going to be way beyond your budget. Well, maybe it is time to think again!

There are plenty of places in Italy, outside of the main cities like Venice, Florence or Rome, which have beautiful palazzi and astounding countryside without the high price tag.  There are ancient hill towns and country estates which are opening their doors to civil weddings.

The legalities and translations will always cost a bit, but really not much more than a traditional church wedding in the UK or a civil marriage.

Many hotels and Agriturismi are very well equipped to hold small scale weddings, usually being able to accommodate up to 100-150 guests at the reception.  They often produce their own organic food and wine and you may be able to hold the ceremony in the vineyards or olive groves.

An Italian wedding quite often involves a buffet around the pool or in the gardens with dancing in the evening as the sun goes down.

Beach weddings are a little harder to organise, but “sun downer” parties before or after the wedding, in towns near the sea, or very popular and provide an amazing opportunity for photos!
